DRF air rescue relies on Restube®

Filderstadt (ots) –

The DRF air rescue has equipped its 31 stations in Germany with a new rescue buoy for water rescue operations. The inflatable floating body “Restube® Automatic” is now carried on all helicopters and can be thrown out of the air into the water in a targeted manner in drowning emergencies. There she offers an accident -prone to immediate buoyancy – and thus a life -saving immediate aid until water rescue workers arrive. This increases the survival and recovery chances of those affected.

Every second counts for water accidents. After just a few minutes without oxygen supply, there are severe health damage or death. But until rescue workers can reach a drowning person, valuable time often goes by. Exactly this period can bridge Restube® Automatic: The helicopter crew can specifically throw the system out of the floating helicopter to the data subject and thus preserve it from drowning. “Especially when it comes to missions with helicopters without a rescue winner, the system offers a quick effective immediate aid from the air. Now we can not only search the area from the air and emergency personnel as before, but also actively intervene to the drowning wise, but also actively intervene in the rescue – a meaningful addition to existing rescue concepts, especially if we are the first rescue center on site,” explains Udo Laux, Fleetchef Region Ost at the DRF Air rescue.

Small, compact, effective

The Restube® Automatic buoy is stowed away on the left cockpit side. In the event of an emergency, it can quickly be thrown out of the door to the helpless person by the co-pilot or the emergency paramedic (HEMS TC). When contacting the water surface, the yellow buoy automatically blows up thanks to the integrated CO2 cartridge. The person concerned can adhere to it until they are saved over the water or by wind and then cared for an emergency medicine. “The emergency buoy offers significant advantages,” continued Udo Laux. “It hardly needs any space in the helicopter, is easy to use – and can make the decisive difference for our patients in an emergency.”

Modern equipped to save life

The introduction of the RESTUBE® Automatic buoy is another important step of the DRF air rescue in order to improve emergency care in Germany across the board. “With the latest technology and highly qualified crews, we are prepared for all situations – at any time and wherever people need our help,” explains Udo Laux. The nationwide equipment of all stations with the new rescue boje underlines the commitment of the DRF air rescue for the highest standards in emergency rescue and the continuous optimization of the rescue chain – for the benefit of the patients.
