“Auto industry raises the alarm – federal government has to finally act instead of just swinging nice speeches in Alpbach!”
Vienna (OTS) –

“If the bosses of the European car manufacturers and suppliers Ursula von der Leyen warn in writing that Europe’s auto industry is driven by the Green Deal, CO₂ goals and energy prices, then this is a last wake -up call. Federal government? Christian Hafenecker, Ma, who also demanded an immediate departure from the “left-green Gewessler spirits”: “It is almost five after twelve. In the EU, the government must immediately occur against the equally nonsensical and ideology-driven burner ban and in general the wooden forest of Ökomarxism in the direction of de-industrialization and job destruction! They only proved to be bitter pills! ”

The figures, according to Hafenecker, would speak a clear language: 51,500 jobs were deleted in Germany in the past year alone, VW wants to dismantle 33,000 jobs by 2030, and Mercedes-Benz, Bosch or Ford also start the red pencil. In Austria, employment in the automotive sector decreased by 8.1 % in the 1st half of 2025-suppliers such as Magna or AVL suffer from stagnating demand for electric cars. “And they now come from China masses and cheaper, while we strangle ourselves with EU specifications and green ideology,” criticized Hafenecker.

In addition to the job destruction of the Green Deal, the loss of competition is tightened: Production in Europe is around thirty percent more expensive than in China, the market share of electric vehicles in the EU is 15 percent (car), 9 percent (vans) and 3.5 percent (truck). “Industry rightly demands: technology openness, more flexible CO₂ goals, incentives for purchase and tax relief. But as long as Brussels and the federal government stubbornly adhere to green ideological prohibitions, hike production, added value and prosperity,” continued Hafeneck.

Austria is already in the third year of recession, unemployment is increasing, tax revenue decreases, while the tax rate continues to increase. “The welfare state must finally be financed with something- but without well-paid jobs in key industries such as the car and supply industry, it is always steeper downhill. The federal government now has to deliver and must no longer watch how our industrial staff silver is scrapped. ‘Alpbach phrasen’ create no jobs, but only responsible policy creates it!”
