Dagrofa Denmark joins the EMD Retail Group

In order to offer their millions of retail customers even more advantages, the European Marketing Distribution (EMD) strengthens its presence in Scandinavia. After the recently known integration of the Swedish retailer Axfood, a further EMD member of the EMD Retail Group will join Dagrofa from Denmark in 2026. Dagrofa has been an EM shareholder since 2002.

To clarify: While the EMD and its member companies concentrate on the procurement and marketing of successful trademark products, the EMD members combined in the Retail Group in cooperation with leading multinational A brand manufacturers also realize cross-border services and marketing concepts.

In the Retail Group, Dagrofa from Denmark will work with well -known and successful trading companies in their respective home countries from 2026. Actors such as the Euromadi Alfa Group from Spain, ESD Italia, Superunie from the Netherlands, RTG International from Germany, Axfood from Sweden and a new group of retail companies from Poland are already involved in the Retail Group.

The core tasks for the members of the EMD Retail Group and the new member Dagrofa are clearly defined: It is about promoting and marketing established and sought-after top branded products (including country-specific innovations and variations of these A brands) that are indispensable for customers in international retail. The EMD Retail Group works with the most renowned manufacturers in the industry, including these A-brands.

Dagrofa is an important player in Denmark

With four supermarket formats-Spar, Meny, Minkoeband and Let-Koeb-Dagrofa is represented in Denmark with 540 branches and has a market share of almost 11 percent in Danish retail. Dagrofa also has significant business areas in wholesale and in catering with 30 cash & carry markets.

The group brings additional consumer sales of 2.8 billion euros to the EMD Retail Group.
