Claros is pleased to announce the successful completion of the world’s first large-scale demonstration of the destruction of PFAS with great throughput using UV technology in Daikin America Inc. (DAI) in Decatur, Alabama.
This milestone is to remove another breakthrough in the efforts, per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances (PFAs) from industrial wastewater. During the pilot test, the patent-protected UV-Photochemical procedure from Claros achieved over 99.99 percent destruction of the targeted PFAS compounds and successfully treated more than 190,000 liters of wastewater in a high-flow system that can achieve thousands of liters per minute.
Breakthrough in the destruction of Pfas Since 2012, DAI has ensured a 99.9 percent reduction in large-chain PFAs in its wastewater cleaning process. This pilot program with Claros shows that a large-scale destruction of long, short and ultra-root-chain-chain-chain-chain-chain-chain PFAs is not only technically feasible, but also economically viable.
With an over 99.99 percent destruction of the targeted PFAS connections in a high-flow system, Claros has proven that its technology can work on a large scale and at a cost-effective price-essential factors for real industrial use.

The way to commercial use After the success of this first pilot project, both companies plan further pilot projects and cooperation. The next phase of the pilot projects will concentrate on further improving the flow and destruction options of the technology.
