Start of the new show “Maschek” on January 26th on ORF 1

Also in “Funtime on Friday”: “Cabaret Summit” and “What’s New?”

Vienna (OTS) There will be a concentrated load of red-white-red humor in “Funtime on Friday”, on January 26th, 2024, on ORF 1. At 8:15 p.m. the stage is set for the “cabaret summit”, at which the local scene greats Andreas Vitásek, Viktor Gernot, Thomas Stipsits and Eva Maria Marold as well as the German cabaret artist Andreas Rebers launch an attack on the audience’s laughing muscles with the theme “Europe”. The new show “Maschek” will start at 9:25 p.m. In the January issue, the synchronized satirists Peter Hörmanseder and Robert Schwanz ask who the powerful people are in the state, focus on national icons in sport and culture and address the Tetris world record. “Maschek” is available on on.ORF.at and in the TVthek app from 8 p.m. on the day of broadcast. And at 10:05 p.m. Oliver Baier will celebrate “Emergency Forces Day” on ORF 1 with his “What’s new?” advice team. Günther Lainer, Eva Maria Marold, Joachim Brandl, Lydia Prenner-Kasper and Viktor Gernot deliver punchlines nonstop, including about the “tip of the tongue phenomenon”.

“Cabaret Summit” at 8:15 p.m

Everything revolves around Europe in this episode of the “Cabaret Summit”. Thomas Stipsits brings the “new values” to the best in a medley of Andreas Gabalier songs. Since education is and remains a central topic, Andreas Rebers presents everyday school life from the perspective of an ossified teacher, and Eva Maria Marold gives a speech from a troubled parent representative. Andreas Vitásek reports on his experiences on various trips to Europe and Viktor Gernot reports on his experiences traveling in local taxis with drivers from all over the world.

“Maschek” at 9:25 p.m

In the opening program of “Maschek”, Peter Hörmanseder and Robert Schwanz ask who the powerful people in the state are. Is Alexander Van der Bellen really number one? And who follows in the places? Ultimately, what matters is who is allowed behind which door, be it the wallpaper door in the Hofburg or the cabin door in the Ernst Happel Stadium. Emergency operations, torn ligaments and bankruptcies shake national icons in sport and culture. Populists are conquering one country after another – is it Austria’s turn this year? And Russia’s friendliest export, the computer game Tetris, is being played to completion for the first time in more than 30 years – by a 13-year-old American. How long will the world stand now?

The world from the Maschek side – Peter Hörmanseder and Robert Schwanz talk about it: in addition to their weekly clips on “Welcome Austria” from January also in their own format “Maschek”. The television images from all channels, from “Zeit im Bild” to sports, from prime-time shows to social media, are analyzed – in eight programs and a best-of episode -, reinterpreted and put together once a month. Remix brought. The television material in the (almost) lip-synced flashback of the two voice anarchists – real fake and cleverly stupid.

“What’s new?” at 10:05 p.m

Oliver Baier and his advice team celebrate “Emergency Forces Day”. Representing everyone who still has their dry Christmas tree in their living room, who stumbles onto the slopes without being warmed up or who has forgotten the rules of the road traffic regulations. Thank you fire department, rescue and police! Günther Lainer, Eva Maria Marold, Joachim Brandl, Lydia Prenner-Kasper and Viktor Gernot puzzle over what could be special about a cookbook from the New Zealand fire department and what the “horn effect” is about. This week’s celebrity question is asked by Christof Spörk: He wants to know what the “tip of the tongue phenomenon” is about.
