While Saturday morning started comparatively calm on Austria’s streets, lively travel started from the late morning – especially on the classic transit routes south. The ÖAMTC recorded traffic jams and accident reports in several federal states, sometimes also due to the weather.
ZTl.: Fernpass route and Brenner with heavy travel
In Tyrol, Füssen occurred in both directions on Fernpassstraße (B179) and in the area of the border tunnel and at Nassereith. On the Brenner Autobahn (A13) it also dammed up to the south between Steinach am Brenner and Nösslach. In the Zillertal there was a block handling in front of the board fall tunnel (B169) north.
ZTl.: Karawankent tunnel closed after a truck accident
In Carinthia, the Karawanken tunnel (A11) had to be closed on Saturday for about an hour. The reason was a truck accident with property damage-the backlog went back several kilometers.
ZTl.: Delays on the A10 in both directions
In the early morning, the Tauern Autobahn (A10) initially remained free of larger traffic jams, according to the jam consultant Florian Thaler, but in the course of the late morning there were increased traffic and longer waiting times in both directions.
ZTl.: Adjust the driving style to the conditions
In view of the changeable weather conditions, the ÖAMTC appeals to always adapt the driving style to the current road and weather conditions. In particular, forward -looking driving, sufficient distance and breaks are important in order to avoid accidents and to offer all road users more security.
Service: Current traffic information, weekend forecasts and deafing at: (www.oeamtc.at/verkehr) or in cross-transport ÖAMTC route planner (www.oeamtc.at/routenplaner) as well as in the app of the club (www.oeamtc.at/apps). The integrated traffic Alert, which automatically indicates delays along personal favorite routes, is particularly practical and suggests suitable alternative opportunities.
