First steps for modern Viennese rescue system welcome – reforms must not stop now
Vienna (OTS) –

“The implementation of individual recommendations of the Court of Auditors in the Vienna rescue system is a first step in the right direction-but SPÖ city councilor Hacker must not rest on this. Above all, a central control center for the effective coordination of all urban and private emergency services must be realized quickly,” emphasize Ingrid Korosec, health spokeswoman for the Vienna People’s Party, and Michael Gorlitzer, chairman of the City Cold Technology Committee, on the occasion of the current follow-up examination of the Auditors to Vienna.

The implementation of a needs and personnel analysis is, for example, a first positive step, but above all the complete connection of private emergency services to the operating control system of the career rescue is urgently necessary. “The fact that movement is finally moving into the Viennese rescue system shows: The reform printing works – it works, but it works. Now the complete implementation of the recommendations – in particular a central control system, uniform quality management, a detailed need plan and the integration into regional structural planning health,” demand Ingrid Korosec and Michael Gorlitzer.

The Vienna People’s Party sees particularly critically that the announced improvements so far only apply to a point: “The city must ensure that the central control center will be fully implemented and in the future throughout Vienna – and not only in individual districts – a rescue vehicle will be on site within a maximum of 14 minutes,” continued Korosec and Gorlitzer. “This applies to Hietzing as well as to Liesing, Floridsdorf or the Donaustadt.” Finally, both emphasize: “The Viennese are entitled to a modern, reliable and well-organized rescue and health system.”
