260 children and adolescents between the ages of 10 and 13 were able to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of science and research at the young university at IMC Krems for a week. This took place for the 18th time from July 7th to 11th on the campus of the IMC Krems. At the end of the week, the young academics now know how it is to sniff university air, to learn from real professors and to research and experiment with them.
“I launched” and throwing sponsorship.
Like the “big ones”, the young students completed their studies with a sponsorship on Friday, July 11, 2025, in the event hall of the IMC Krems. The most important program items were the solemn plans to “remain curious for all lives with the Latin formula” Spondeo “and to always show interest in science and research” as well as throwing the sponsorship. Another highlight was the video of the young university, which summarized the experiences of the past few days.
With the young academics, Ulrike Prommer, managing director of IMC Krems, Udo Brändle, managing director of IMC Krems, Martin Waiguny, academic director of the IMC Krems, teachers and workshop managers as well as numerous guests from business, politics and science, including State Councilor Christiane Teschl-Hofmeister.
Thanks to the many sponsors and sponsors, the cost of the young university for the parents amounts to just ten euros per child, at the same time a varied program of the highest quality is offered.
„It’s all in me“
“The young university at IMC Krems has already established itself as an exciting and varied way of holiday care in Lower Austria. This year the children were able to playfully live out their curiosity and their urge to know in the lectures and workshops and at the same time the parents know their children well -cared for during the holiday season. Science prepared up close and child -friendly – these are the intentions of the young university at IMC Krems”
according to Education Councilor Christiane Teschl-Hofmeister.
The participants of the young university were able to experience the fascination of learning and knowledge in the 37 lectures and in the 55 workshops. This year the young university was under the motto “It’s all in me”. “For the motto” It’s all in me “we decided this year because it is particularly important to us to promote the interests and potential of the children and to show what everything is made of”
explains the project manager Bianca Taller.
Astonishing experiments and exciting projects made the young student desire for everyday university life. A pool of interesting workshops such as “astronomy”, “3D printing”, “Fit for emergency” or “Physics is” cool “-experiments with dry ice” was waiting for them.
School pocket campaign
In cooperation with the Stepic CEE Charity Organization Powered by RBI Group, used school bags were also donated again this year. The children of the young university were able to bring them to the IMC Krems. The school bags are filled by partner companies and then donated to children in Austria and Romania.
