The Federal Army offers childcare for employees in military properties during the summer months. This includes up to six weeks of care for children aged three to twelve years. At 20 locations in seven federal states, including Vienna, Lower Austria, Upper Austria, Styria, Carinthia, Salzburg and Tyrol, a qualified service provider takes care of the over 765 children. These are divided into 32 groups, which ensures best possible support.
“The steadily increasing demand in recent years shows us how necessary this offer is. We have therefore further expanded the childcare offers. We want to relieve our employees not only on duty, but also in the private environment. At the same time, the children have the opportunity to make contacts and enjoy the summer time together,” said Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner.
Since 2008, the Federal Army has been offering childcare in the summer months in its military properties. The Federal Army Services have the opportunity to accommodate their children in temporary care during the summer vacation. The infrastructure required for this is generally provided by the Federal Army.
Since demand has increased significantly since last year, the supply of childcare has been expanded accordingly. In the future, the Federal Army is also planning to further expand the care in order to enable employees to reconcile work and family and to offer attractive additional services.
