At the 79th State Hunter Day of the Lower Austrian Hunting Association, Christoph Metzker was elected as the new state hunter with 99 percent of the vote. Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner congratulates the choice and emphasizes the importance of a modern, future-oriented advocacy group: “I congratulate Christoph Metzker very much on the choice and wish him good success, strength and foresight. The hunting is an indispensable component of our cultural landscape-it needs strong voices and personalities with responsibility like Christoph Metzker.” At the same time, Mikl-Leitner emphasizes the great importance of the Lower Austrian hunters for the country: “Our hunters are simply indispensable-they have a safe eye for game, an open ear for people and a big heart for our homeland.”
