Traffic jams on A2, A9, A10 and A13– Italian strike places parts of the holiday traffic

Traffic traffic in and from Austria is massively affected today. In addition to several jams on Austria’s main traffic routes, a large -scale strike in Italy ensures considerable disorders in international travel – with effects also in Greece and Croatia.

A2 Südautobahn:
A serious accident with three trucks led to a complete lock in the area of Unterflurstrasse Reiferdorf in the direction of Vienna. The rescue work is underway, and a detour was set up from the airport-Klagenfurt. Nevertheless, there are extensive traffic jams and other delays.

A9 Pyhrn Autobahn – Gleinalmtunnel locked:
A traffic accident in the area of the Gleinalmtunnel has led to a complete lock of the Graz directional lane. The tunnel is currently not passable. A large -scale redirection has been set up, but there are significant delays on the entire route. Road users should avoid large -scale.

A10 Tauernautobahn:
Between Golling and Throwing, due to an extensive construction site area, both directions lead to traffic jams of up to two hours. Traffic traffic towards the south and return travel are equally affected.

A13 Brenner Autobahn – situation relaxes:
The exit traffic towards Italy has calmed down. During the top of the daily, there was a time loss of up to 1.5 hours between the Schönberg toll point and the border with Brenner/Brenero. Currently, the loss of time is only about 15 minutes.

Italian strike with international effect:
A nationwide strike in the Italian transport sector, which affects the staff in flight, rail and ferry traffic, has been extended by another 24 hours today. This not only leads to massive failures and delays in Italy itself, but also in adjacent travel countries.
Greece and Croatia are particularly affected, as numerous ferry connections and flight connections lead to Italian hubs such as Venice, Bari, Ancona and Rome. International rail connections through northern Italy were also largely discontinued or severely restricted.
Recommendation:
Travelers are urgently asked to check the status of their connection directly from airlines, railways and ferry providers before the start of the trip.
