Promotion for single-track e-mobile vehicles is extended

Vienna (OTS) –

The Federal Ministry of Innovation, Mobility and Infrastructure extends funding for single-track e-mobile vehicles and starts the funding pot at 1.5 million euros. Despite the need for consolidation, the extension of the funding Minister Minister Peter Hanke is an important concern: “”With the extension of the funding for single-track e-KFZ and the expansion of the e-charging infrastructure, we set a strong signal for the mobility turn. E-KFZ two wheels are space-saving, offer enough reach for everyday use and the environment on top of that. With this form of mobility in particular, we see great potential to switch from conventional combustion vehicles to emission-free electric vehicles.“

Funding applications can be submitted from September 2025, the program runs until spring 2026. Both types of vehicles are on the road and are not allowed to ride on cycle paths. They differ from those “e-moped” types that are on bike paths.

Karin Munk, Secretary General of the ARGE 2Rad: “This decision is a strong signal for a climate -friendly, space -saving and affordable mobility future – both in the city and in rural areas“.

Funding strengthens market segment with great potential

The funding therefore addresses a segment of e-mobility that, in contrast to e-cars and e-bikes, has not yet reached society in everyday life. The mobility-political goal of the funding measure is that single-track e-KFZ gradually replace motorized combustion engines that are used for short distances, for example scooters or second car. In combination with the announced subsidies in the area of e-charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, the Ministry of Mobility sees a big step to further promote the mobility turning point and to make e-mobility more attractive.
