SPÖ NÖ-LGF Wolfgang Zwander: The current mayor, Koza, must not drag the Lower Austrian fire departments down in the whirlpool of his affair

Mikl-Leitner will have to convince Koza as soon as possible that there is no alternative to resigning.

St. Pölten (OTS) SPÖ-NÖ regional manager Wolfgang Zwander on the affair surrounding Hannes Koza, mayor of Vösendorf: “Koza allegedly forged an invoice because he insulted people on the Internet, but did not want to pay the legal fees for a related settlement himself. Instead, the municipality and thus the citizens of Vösendorf should pay the bill. Caught red-handed, he now makes completely meaningless claims. In interviews he states that the fire department stands behind his actions and him. The presumption of innocence applies, but Koza must not drag the highly respected fire departments in Lower Austria into this unpleasant case. The fire departments must not be part of the party-political dispute – they are too important for that. In addition, Koza’s resignation is long overdue. Koza has not only failed morally, but there are serious criminal charges against him. Every additional day in office damages the reputation of all mayors in Lower Austria – Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner will have to make that clear to him quickly. In addition, he should quickly stop his slander against the SPÖ out of his own interest. No one but him bears responsibility for his unprecedented actions.”
