It was the longest collective agreement negotiation in the industrial spring wage round. The wage and salary negotiations for the approximately 60,000 employees of the electrical and electronics industry (EEI) took a full eleven weeks. “The opposing positions were particularly great this time. Despite all the difficulties, we were able to agree on fair and medium-sized income groups in the fifth round with the fifth round. Above all, the low and medium-sized income groups benefit from permanent inflation.
The minimum wages and basic salaries as well as apprenticeship income increase by 3 percent. The collective contracts and allowances are also increased by 3 percent. The actual wages and salaries will be raised by 2.75 percent by May 1, but a maximum of 115 euros.
“These sustainable wage and salary increases are a common success of the works council: inside and employees. The successful conclusion was only possible after company meetings and threats of strike. We fought ourselves in solidarity from zero or 1.5 percent,” says Binder and joke, which point out that the consequences of the inflation crisis continue to burden employees. The sustainable conclusion therefore also ensures more confidence in the future.
Furthermore, a recession option for companies was agreed with great economic difficulties. If a company has been struggling with a negative EBIT since the past two years or has a minus of more than 2 percent in the last financial year, this option can be applied. This means that part of the current increase is then converted into additional paid leisure and/or into a one-off payment.
