At the start of the construction for the new location of the Körber business field Technologies, the first mayor of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, Dr. Peter Tschentscher, visited the construction site in the future innovation park Bergedorf. The completion of the Körber new building Hamburg is already planned for the end of 2026.
With a visit to Hamburg’s first mayor Tschentscher on the large construction site in the innovation park Bergedorf, Körber heralded the start of construction work for the “Körber-Neubau Hamburg” on Thursday. Like Bergedorf’s district manager Cornelia Schmidt-Hoffmann and around 70 invited guests on site, Tschentscher got an idea of the future main location of the Körber business field Technologies in the east of the Hanseatic city.
Stephan SeifertCEO and CEO of Körber, said: “With well over 200 million euros, the Körber-Neubau Hamburg is the greatest individual investment in the history of Körber. We are clearly committed to the business location of Germany, Hamburg and our origin in Bergedorf, because here are the roots of the company that Kurt A. Körber founded in 1946.” Seifert thanked Mayor Tschentscher, head of the Senate Chancellery State Councilor Jan Pörksen and District Head of Schmidt-Hoffmann: “Without her commitment and support, the new building at this location would not be possible for Körber.”
The Körber-Neubau Hamburg brings together the previous locations of Körber Technologies GmbH on Kurt A. Körber Chaussee and on Weidenbaumsweg in Hamburg-Bergedorf and in Schwarzenbek in Schleswig-Holstein to the headquarters of the business area. The modern and sustainable complex is created almost two kilometers away from the previous location in Bergedorf and includes almost 50,000 square meters of building space, in the administration, development, production and logistics according to the latest standards. With the new building, Körber combines modern working worlds, digital processes and sustainable building in one place.

In particular, she thanked the project team for the committed work of the past few months and is already looking forward to completion at the end of 2026: “The new building will lead the Körber business field technologies into the future and is the basis for hopefully for another 80 years of successful innovations Made in Germany,” said Anbarasu.

While the new Körber building is now becoming more visible in the next few months, the considerations for the use of the current location at Kurt A. Körber Chaussee will run in parallel after moving to the innovation park in 2027. Körber has constructive discussions for the further development of the “Hauni Quartier” both with the city of Hamburg and the Bergedorf district.
