Trench Group GmbH, a worldwide leading company in the development and manufacture of components and systems for high-voltage energy transmission, significantly expands its development and manufacturing capacities in North America. In Charlotte, in the US state of North Carolina, a new factory for transformer implementations is being built. HSP US, LLC, a subsidiary of the Trench Group, will invest more than $ 60 million in the establishment of a factory in which, from the beginning of 2026, top technology will be manufactured for the expansion of the network infrastructure in the USA. This also includes components of the highest level of voltage in the range of 800 kilovolt (KV).
In order to bridge the construction period, the group of companies has already created further production capacities in its recently built Canadian subsidiary HSP Canada. This creates other options for Trench’s customers in Canada and the necessary flexibility for the entire American market. Overall, the group of companies reacts with the measures to the very rapidly growing demand in North America and takes another important step as part of its global growth strategy.
Dr. Bahadir Basdere, CEO of the Trench Group, says: “The strong expansion of our capacities in North America, in particular the construction of the factory in the Charlotte region, are a milestone for HSP US and the Trench Group. They underline our measures for global capacity expansion. Growth and further development of the energy infrastructure in North America.
Strategic expansion in a dynamic market
The United States is considered one of the fastest growing markets for Bushings. With the new work, Trench will make a significant contribution to covering the rising electricity requirements in the USA – especially in the numerous huge arithmetic and data centers, there will be enormous needs due to the continuing boom in applications of artificial intelligence.
In the final expansion, the new work will include a total area of approx. 20,000 m2 and offers expansion potential for possible HGÜ production (high-voltage equal current transmission). In the work, dry -shaped implementations (RIS/RIP) are produced with tensions> 800 kV for the North American market. The work will have the full production depth and, among other things, one of the most modern and powerful high -voltage test laboratories in the region will also be created.
Optimized supply chain and customer proximity
With the new production facility, the delivery times can be significantly shortened and the proximity to important customers can be strengthened. The decision for Charlotte was made due to the good access to qualified workers and the strategically favorable location in the southeast of the United States, where many well -known transformer manufacturers are represented. The investment not only strengthens the competitiveness of the Trench Group in North America, but also creates new jobs and promotes knowledge transfer.
