The FH Campus Vienna sees itself as a university with a clear social mission. This is lived in a variety of ways – among other things with music. The university of applied sciences has organized Charity Concerts twice with its band, the Beats Campus, whose revenue also benefited the SOS Children’s Village. With this initiative, the FH Campus Vienna sets a clear sign of social responsibility and at the same time promotes the creative potential of its students, teachers, researchers and employees.
A musical joint project
A special form of coexistence was created with the Beats Campus, because in addition to making music together, donations are collected for the common good at concerts. “”At the Beats Campus Beats, students, employees and friends of the FH Campus Vienna come together and stand out across professional limits with a lot of passion for a good cause
“, Says Heimo Sandtner, academic director and rector of the FH Campus Vienna and initiator of the band.
Music that connects
The revenues of the previous charity concerts flowed directly into two projects of the SOS Children’s Village: In the Upper Austrian Altmünster, the new building of one of the oldest SOS Children’s Villages in Europe was supported. Over 1,200 children have found a loving home here – future generations will also be made possible with the recently completed village renewal. In eleven buildings in solid wood construction, up to 100 children, young people and their parents can now be accompanied. In the girls living Graz NEW project, a shared apartment for young girls with severe blows of fate is being created. In the future, eleven girls will find a supportive and safe environment including therapeutic accompaniment – with plenty of space for their needs and their individual development. “”With music as a connecting element, the FH Campus Wien not only creates special concert experiences, but also makes a valuable contribution to projects that focus on the well -being of children and promote sustainably. We would like to thank the FH Campus Vienna for the generous support of our work
“, Said Nora Deinhammer, Managing Director SOS Children’s Village.
