View of the districts – outdoor districts

On April 27, 23 district representatives will be elected in Vienna. A total of 1,374,712 people including EU citizens are entitled to vote in their respective residential district. The starting point is worth a look at all 23 districts – both within the belt as well as outside the belt and in the districts “left of the Danube” (Lido) and in Liesing.

Location in the districts outside the belt

Marcus Franz (SPÖ) has been in favorites since 2017. Since 1946 the SPÖ continuously has been the top of the district in the 10th district. In the 2020 election, the result was clear: At 47.4 percent, the SPÖ in favorites was able to win almost half of all votes – and also achieved the highest vote in comparison to all 23 districts. The ÖVP (18 percent), then FPÖ (10.52 percent), Greens (8.98 percent), HC (4.32 percent) and Neos (4.15 percent), SÖZ (3.17 percent), beer (1.75 percent) and links (1.57 percent) followed. Thomas Steinhart (SPÖ) has been the district manager of Simmering since 2020. From 1945 to 2015, SPÖ district leaders were in office, from 2015 to 2020 the FPÖ provided the district chief. In the last election, the SPÖ clearly led 41.49 percent, followed by the FPÖ with 28.44 percent. The ÖVP (11.30 percent) was in third place, followed by green (6.72 percent), Neos (3.53 percent), HC (2.99 percent), beer (2.31 percent) and SÖZ (2.12 percent). In the district council, their votes are spread over 60 seats.

The SPÖ has been at the district leadership in Meidling since 1946. District chief Wilfried Zankl has been in office since 2019. In the last election, the SPÖ was clearly at the top in the 12th district with 42 percent, followed by ÖVP (16.85 percent), Greens (15.91 percent), FPÖ (6.85 percent), NEOS (5.84 percent), HC (3.21 percent), per agitation (3.06 percent) and links (2.46 percent) and beer (1.77) Percent). In the district council, their votes are spread over 60 seats.

In Hietzing, Nikolaus Ebert (ÖVP) replaced his predecessor Silke Kobald in 2023, who was district manager of the 13th district for ten years. The ÖVP has been in Hietzing since 1978, and district leaders of the ÖVP and the SPÖ changed in front of it. In the last election, the ÖVP was clear at 44.25 percent, followed by the SPÖ (22.28 percent), the Greens (15.06 percent), NEOS (8.87 percent) and the FPÖ (3.90 percent). Michaela Schüchner (SPÖ) has been the district manager in Penzing since 2019. Since 1946 the SPÖ has been at the top of the district in the 14th district. The result of the last choice: With 36.94 percent, the SPÖ clearly came first, followed by ÖVP (23.57 percent), Greens (18.32 percent), NEOS (7.44 percent), FPÖ (6.44 percent), HC (2.53 percent) and links (1.96 percent). In the district council, their votes are spread over 60 seats.

Dietmar Baurecht (SPÖ) became district manager of Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus in 2022 during the legislative period and took over the office from his predecessor Gerhard Zatlokal, who was district chief in the 15th district from 2008 to 2022. The SPÖ has been at the top of the district since 1946. In the last election, the SPÖ was also clearly in 1st place with 38.53 percent, followed by the Greens (23.89 percent), ÖVP (13.40 percent), FPÖ (6.12 percent), links (5.71 percent) and NEOS (5.49 percent), HC (2.62 percent), beer (2.37 percent) and SÖZ (1.88 percent). In the district council, their votes are spread over 52 seats.
On April 27, the following parties will be available in Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus: SPÖ, ÖVP, Greens, Neos, FPÖ, heart, KPÖ (and left), Söz, HC, PDA.

The Ottakringer district leader Stefanie Lamp took over the office in early 2024 from its predecessor Franz Prokop during the legislative period, who was district head in the 16th district for almost 20 years. For Stefanie Lamp it is the first choice as a reigning district boss. Since 1946, the Ottakringer district heads have been coming from the SPÖ throughout. The result was also clear in the last district election of 2020. 39.03 percent went to the SPÖ, in second place the Greens followed with 20.01 percent, then the ÖVP (16.83 percent). At 6.07 percent, the NEOs were almost on par with the FPÖ (6.02 percent). Links followed with 4.33 percent, HC with 2.82 percent, then Söz (1.95 percent) and beer (1.86 percent). In 2022, Peter Jagsch (SPÖ) took over the office of district leader in hernals from his predecessor Ilse Pfeffer, who was district manager in the 17th district for 20 years from 2002. The SPÖ has been at the top in the district since 1946. Result of the last choice: The SPÖ was at the forefront with 33.21 percent, followed by green (24.28 percent), ÖVP (19.71 percent), NEOS (8.28 percent), FPÖ (5.56 percent) and links (3.96 percent). In the district council, their votes are spread over 42 seats.
On April 27, the following parties are available in Hernals: SPÖ, ÖVP, Greens, Neos, FPÖ, KPÖ (and left), Söz, HC, DBÖ.

Silvia Nossek (Greens) has been district manager in Währing since 2015. Before that, from 1946 to 2015 the ÖVP headed the district, for 25 years (1990-2015) Karl Homole (ÖVP) was district head. In the last election, the Greens were clearly ahead with 38.70 percent, followed by ÖVP (27.48 percent), SPÖ (17.86 percent), Neos (8.07 percent) and FPÖ (2.74 percent). Daniel Resch (ÖVP) has been district head in Döbling since 2018. Previously, Adi Tiller-also ÖVP-was district chief for 40 years (1978-2018) and is the currently long-term district head of Ad Vienna. Previously, from 1945 to 1978 the SPÖ was at the head of the district. In the last Vienna election in 2020, the ÖVP-with 36.89 percent-was 1st place, followed by SPÖ (26.92 percent), Greens (16.02 percent), Neos (9.77 percent), FPÖ (5.10 percent). In 2023 in Brigittenau, Christine Dubravac-Widholm (SPÖ) took place as district manager in 2023 and took over from her predecessor Hannes Derfler, who was district head of Brigittenau from 2008 to 2023. Since 1945 the SPÖ has been continuously at the district leadership in the 20th district. In the 2020 election, the SPÖ was far ahead with 45.02 percent, followed by green (17.27 percent), ÖVP (14.78 percent), FPÖ (7.35 percent), Neos (4.99 percent), links (3.64 percent) and HC (3.10 percent) and beer (2.09 percent) and Söz (1.77 percent). In the district council, their votes are spread over 56 seats.
