Service start – Lavera forest project in Austria

Lavera Naturkosmetik is expanding her commitment to environmental protection and for the first time starts a reforestation project in Austria* in cooperation with the International Environmental Foundation Lifeterra and the Austrian organization Wald4leben, 500 climate -resistant trees were planted in the Waldviertel near Göpfritz, Lower Austria. The campaign was supported by students from Göpfritz/Wild, who helped with a lot of enthusiasm and creativity in planting.

The Austrian forests have suffered significantly due to several years, which led to a large -scale infestation from bark beetles – especially in the susceptible spruce stands. As a result of the pest infestation, numerous forests had to be completely cleared.

Sustainability as a heart project of Lavera

The Lavera forest project was launched in 2021 by company founder Thomas Haase to make an active contribution to the preservation of nature. Service projects, environmental education, research and biodiversity are funded. Since then, over 45,000 trees and shrubs have been planted in Germany, Italy and France – always in close cooperation with local partners, schools, scouts and other committed groups.

“Our reforestation projects combine environmental education with practical commitment. It is important to us to bring young people closer to the importance of trees and their positive influence on our ecosystem,” explains Sabine Kästner, sustainability officer of Laverana. “With our cooperation partner Lifeterra, we not only create more climate -resistant forests, but also convey the knowledge and joy of plants.”

Sven Kallen from Lifeterra adds: “The enthusiasm of the children was contagious. They not only planted with great commitment, but also learned how important the variety of tree species is for a healthy forest. It was particularly nice when they gave their trees names – a moment that shows how much they feel connected to nature.”

A strong sign for the future

With the first planting project in Austria, Lavera sets another sign of sustainable forest development. “Our goal is to transform monocultures into healthy mixed forests and to preserve nature for future generations. We look forward to working with Lifeterra and Wald4leben as well as the private forest owners who are ready to take important measures for the forests of tomorrow,” emphasizes Sabine Kästner.

In addition to reforestation projects, Lavera also supports the Karwendel Nature Park in Tyrol. Here, funds from the Lavera forest project flow into the care of high alms that could not be preserved without support. “With these measures, we contribute to preserving the natural and cultural heritage of the alpine pastures, their biodiversity and traditional cattle economy,” concludes Kästner.

*The project was made possible by means of the Lavera forest project, in which 10 cents per purchase of selected Lavera products flow in Europe in Europe in recess, environmental education, research and the protection of ecologically valuable areas. www.lavera.de/wald
