The International Jazz Day 2025 will be celebrated in more than 190 countries on April 30, with Abu Dhabi being selected as a global host city. The event organized by the UNESCO and Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz offers concerts as well as educational and cultural initiatives.

This edition will highlight the rich variety of creativity and cultural heritage in the city and at the same time show the ability of jazz, combine communities and to promote dialogue and peace over continents”, explained UNESCO-Generaldirektorin Audrey Azoulay.
Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) will serve as the pulsating center of these global celebrations. A five-week, city-wide series of jazz appearances, educational programs and community events will take place in the city, including the worldwide international Jazz Day 2025 All-Star Global Concert on April 30th in the Etihad Arena, the largest covered location in the region.
Under the direction of the iconic pianist Herbie Hancock and the moderation of the Oscar-winning actor Jeremy Irons This concert brings together an extraordinary program of renowned jazz, blues, classical and hip-hop artists from all over the world. Among other things, there will be: Arrqam al abri (UAE), John Beasley (USA), Dee Dee Bridgewater (USA), This is (China), Terri Lyne Carrington (USA), Kurt Elling (USA), José James (USA), Rhani krija (Morocco), John McLaughlin (UK), Hélène Mercier (France/Canada), Marcus Miller (USA), Linda may he oh (Australia), John Pizzarelli (USA), Dianne Reeves (USA), Arturo Sandoval (USA), Naseer shamma (Irak), Danilo Pérez (Panama), and Varijashree venugopal (India). On the international jazz day, thousands of Events take place:. Artists, educators and institutions will organize master classes, jam sessions, panel discussions and pedagogical workshops that reflect the profound effect of jazz as a connecting force.
A full month full of events in Abu Dhabi
The activities will take place in important cultural and educational institutions such as the Louvre Abu Dhabi, Berklee Abu Dhabi and the NYU Abu Dhabi as well as in hospitals, senior citizens’ centers, children’s libraries and schools. Special appearances will highlight the integration of jazz with traditional instruments such as the Oud, Qanoon and the Ney.
The International Jazz Day 2025 coincides with the cultural summit Abu Dhabi. The annual event brings leading personalities from the cultural and creative industry together and includes discussion rounds and discussions with Herbie Hancock and other well-known artists.
