With a strong commitment to Vienna, the Vienna People’s Party started the intensive phase of the election campaign on Thursday evening. In front of over 500 visitors in the sophiene halls emphasized state party chairman and top candidate Karl Mahrer: “We all compete on April 27 because we really love Vienna. And precisely because we love our city so much, we are obliged to name the problems of Vienna very clearly. Only the Vienna People’s Party has the strength, will and the competence to solve these problems!”
In his speech, Mahrer dealt with the problems in the security area, where many areas of the city – for example in favorites or along the U6 – threaten to tip over. He called for an end to look away and the PR gag shortly before elections: “We have to finally fight the causes of increasing crime! And the causes are in the education and integration failure of the past years and decades!”
Half of all first graders do not understand the teacher at school – although 80% of these children were in kindergarten for two years. “This is the failure of the SPÖ and also the Neos, which did not raise the wings in Vienna, but have trimmed the wings! We say very clearly: German is mandatory!” Mahrer, who also locates a clear failure of the city government in the integration area: “Integration from the first day is a prerequisite for being able to live with us. It also has to be the end of rejected asylum seekers in Vienna to get 1,200 euros in a minimum security, while in the surrounding federal states they received 400 euros in basic security. And pay taxes! “
Healthcare has also opened up enormous imbalance in Vienna in recent years. Bad political management and an overload of the systems are the cause, according to the state party chairman and top candidate of the Vienna People’s Party.
The top candidate of the Vienna People’s Party also explicitly spoke out for a coexistence instead of a against each other in the field of mobility – the freedom of choice and corresponding offers are of crucial importance for people, according to Mahrer, who once again demanded the rapid start of construction of the lobaut tunnel as a decisive relief for the people in the Donaustadt and Floridsdorf.
Vienna needs a bourgeois corrective in the city government, Mahrer summarizes the starting point: The left -winglink politics of the past 25 years has caused many problems – and still ignored today.
“The SPÖ, the SPÖ with the Greens and finally the SPÖ with its appendix Neos, Vienna have a lot of problems in the security, education, integration and health. And they are also not willing to recognize these problems, and certainly not to solve them!”
The FPÖ, in turn, could not and do not want to solve the problems and will also play a role in Vienna.
“The voters only have an alternative if they want Vienna to really stay Vienna. And that is the Vienna People’s Party,” said Mahrer with thunderous applause. “We make the Viennese a promise of protection: Vienna remains Vienna – but only with us. Anyone who really loves Vienna will choose the Vienna People’s Party on April 27th!”
