Vienna (OTS) New year, new “Welcome Austria” happiness: After a short Christmas breather, Stermann and Grissemann start the new year on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at 10:15 p.m. on ORF 1 with great gags and three great guests. Television icon Anja Kruse is coming back to the Marx Palast for a talk after five years. Did the two WÖ hosts take their nutritional tips from their last visit to heart? Thomas Mraz and Emilia Warenski, two members of the cast of the new ORF series “School of Champions”, will also be guests. Maschek and “The Tuesday Night Chapel” have also returned from the holiday timeout and are really letting it rip in the first show of the year. Then at 11:15 p.m. the “Pratersterne” light up DIE.NACHT when Hosea Ratschiller welcomes Clemens Maria Schreiner, Benedikt Mitmannsgruber and Malarina on the stand-up stage as well as the musical act Ernst Molden & Maria Petrova. At 11.45 p.m. there will be a dacapo with “Good Night Austria”.

“Welcome Austria” with Stermann & Grissemann at 10:15 p.m

Actress Anja Kruse was seen in pretty much all TV classics, from “Commissioner Rex” to “Klinik unter Palmen”, “Traumschiff”, “Rosamunde Pilcher” to “Rosenheim Cops” and “The Last Bull”. Last but not least, she was a guest at Stermann and Grissemann in 2018 and has already written two books. Last year she appeared on stage with Ingolf Lück in Munich. In the “Welcome Austria” talk, she reveals whether she is now turning more to the theater again and what projects the TV star has planned for this year.

Stars of tomorrow, at least in skiing, are made in the “School of Champions”. The eight-part ORF series is about an elite ski boarding school in the mountains of Austria, where high-performance athletes are trained. Thomas Mraz, known from numerous Austrian TV and cinema productions, and newcomer Emilia Warenski stood in front of the camera alongside Jakob Seeböck, Josephine Ehlert and Gregor Seberg, among others, and created a thrilling skiing spectacle that was already broadcast before the TV premiere on January 22nd at 8:15 p.m. on ORF 1 is highly praised by critics. In an interview with Tuesday night’s champions, Mraz and Warenski reveal how the two of them fared during filming and what made working on the series so special.

“Pratersterne” at 11:05 p.m

“Pratersterne” host Hosea Ratschiller invites you again to Vienna’s Fluc: First, the main prize winner of the Austrian Cabaret Prize 2020, Clemens Maria Schreiner, takes the stage. Benedikt Mitmannsgruber then tells why his dad suffered from the lockdown as a cross-border commuter. Malarina, who is of Serbian descent, observes those around her intensively and shares her insights. And the musical finale comes from Ernst Molden & Maria Petrova.
