At today’s 90th state assembly of the Greens Vienna, Peter Kraus was elected second place in the Greens Vienna list by the approximately 500 green members present with 85.77 percent. In his speech, in view of the international and national situation, Kraus emphasized the importance of the Greens in politics: “This is exactly what environmental protection, cohesion and democracy are essential. We are now fighting all the more for a brave and green Vienna. This courage is needed, because climate protection and nature conservation are under fire. In 2025, a directional decision for the Viennese: Inside: The SPÖ will again provide the mayor. But with whom it forms a coalition, that’s open. And the voters decide: Inside with their voice. Does the ÖVP go back to the concrete age or go forward with us Greens, into a future in which the city of Grüner and life in Vienna becomes easier? ”Says Kraus.
On SPÖ in climate protection no relying
The Greens are the only party that is credible and courageous in climate and nature conservation when attacks come from right. “Because there is no relying on the SPÖ either. Anyone who says climate protection but wants to further concrete highways is not credible, ”says Kraus.
Federal party leader Werner Kogler also gave a speech together with the new Green State Councilor in Burgenland, Anja Haider-Wallner. The ministers Leonore Gewessler and Alma Zadić were present in the audience. The list positions 3 to 20 are still chosen at the state assembly today.
