The supply of the Austrian population with high -quality and regional food is at the center of the work of our farmers. Unfortunately, food shopping is an enormous burden for some of our fellow human beings. 665 pig farmers took part in the “Pig keeping helps” campaign to set a great sign.
In November and December of last year, the pork keeping Austria initiated the fundraising campaign “Pig keeper helps”. Members of the VLV, Styrabrid and EZG Gut Streitdorf producer groups had the opportunity to donate the value of a tokle or pig for charitable purposes as part of a pig delivery. Donation of partial values was also possible.
ZTl.: Phenomenal result of the fundraising campaign
A total of 665 farmers took part and donated over 52,000 euros together. The Schlachtskuten Dachsberger, Großfurtner and Fleischhof Raabtal generously provide the processing, packaging and delivery free of charge. In this way, 11,000 meat packages can now be distributed to charitable facilities. The most donated by pig farmers from Upper Austria.
In February and March, the meat packages are distributed in close cooperation with Caritas Austria. For example, the Marienstüberl in Graz and social markets in Krems and Zwettl are supplied. In Upper Austria, the meat packages for catering in the Bartholomäus retirement home in Linz, as well as for a vocational preparation project for young people with impairment are available. In Vienna, where a particularly high need for pork was reported, the homeless facility and the Le+o social markets are supplied.
ZTl.: Solidarity lived
“With this campaign, the Austrian pork farmers prove that they take the supply order for our fellow human beings seriously,” says happily Michael KlaffenböckManaging Director of Pig keeping Austria. “Due to the great willingness to donate, tens of thousands of people enjoy high -quality, Austrian pork. Our thanks go to the partner companies Dachsberger, Großfurtner and Fleischhof Raabtal, the Caritas Austria and above all the 665 farmers who participated in this campaign and set a sign of solidarity! ”(End)
