The Vantage Foundation proudly announces its partnership with SOS Children’s Village Philippines, a non-governmental organization that is committed to providing safe, family-based care for children who no longer receive parental support or run the risk of being separated from their families.
The organization was founded in 1967 and operates a comprehensive network of programs that aim to look after children in need of protection and strengthen endangered families. The focus of your work is the family-based care model, in which children who are orphaned or whose parents are unable to take care of them are accommodated in SOS villages.
These villages consist of small family houses, each led by an SOS mother, which brings the children the attention, love and care of a real family. The children grow up in these homes together with their biological siblings (if available) and other children and are continuously supported by supervisors who serve as role models and offer emotional, pedagogical and psychological support.
SOS Children’s villages offer children from an early age to the end of their training or their studies and the transition to adulthood, holistic care. Through programs that offer educational support, vocational training, scholarships and career counseling, they strengthen young people and equip them with the tools they need to break through the circulation of poverty, to realize their dreams and become future decision -makers and participants in society .
In January, the Vantage Foundation visited a SOS village in Manila to get first-hand an idea of the effective work that is done to support endangered children and adolescents.
