APA and Press Club Concordia invite you to a talk on January 22nd – Experts discuss innovative image strategies in journalism – Photo highlights of the project “Image of the Future: Capturing the Future” and presentation of the white paper “Diversity in Images: Visual Storytelling in Change”

Editorial teams are faced with the challenge every day of appropriately illustrating future topics such as artificial intelligence, diversity or climate change. Experts from the APA will therefore discuss both the effects of stereotypical imagery and new image strategies for contemporary (photo) journalism on January 22nd at the Concordia Press Club. How can media provide images that are authentic, modern and beyond clichés? What does this claim mean for the mindset of professional photojournalists? And what range of images did the APA develop on these topics in the “Zukunftsbild: capturing the future” project funded by the Vienna Media Initiative?

Luzia Strohmayer-Nacif, head of the APA Visual Desk, and Roland Schlager, long-time photographer in the APA editorial team, provide answers and insights under the moderation of Katharina Schell, deputy. APA editor-in-chief. Daniela Kraus, General Secretary of the Concordia Press Club, will open the evening.

The event offers exclusive insights into the Photo highlights of the project “Image of the future: capturing the future” as well as in the new one APA white paper “Diversity in Images: Visual Storytelling in Transition”which includes, among other things, a practical checklist for editorial teams.
