Schmuckenschlager leads the Lower Austrian Farmers’ Association in the chamber elections on March 9th

St. Pölten (OTS) –

Johannes Schmuckenschlager will also lead the Lower Austrian Farmers’ Association as the top candidate in the upcoming chamber elections on March 9th. This decision was made today by the state board of the Lower Austrian Farmers’ Association. The top team at the state level is completed – as in the last election – by the two chamber vice-presidents Lorenz Mayr and Andrea Wagner.

A total of 1,552 farmers are running for office on the 21 district lists (20 political districts plus Waidhofen an der Ybbs as its own district farmers’ chamber) and the state list for the Lower Austrian Farmers’ Association. This means that the Farmers’ Association manages to fill all possible list positions in all districts and on the state list.

Unity and reliability

“Promoting performance, protecting property, securing production – our campaign program for the chamber elections, which we developed together with our decision-makers in the communities, is a clear signal to all farmers: The Farmers’ Association is the only guarantor that unconditionally represents their interests – from the local level to Brussels,” emphasizes Schmuckenschlager. But this requires a clear sign of unity on March 9th and a voice for the farmers’ union. “The last thing our farmers need now is conflict within the representation. Together we now need all the strength of the farming community and unity on the central questions regarding performance and security of supply,” adds the Lower Austrian Chamber President in view of the current political uncertainty.

Farmers’ Association works day after day

“Thank you to everyone who is willing to take responsibility for the farming community and to represent local agriculture and stand up for farming families with their commitment in the district farmers’ chambers and at the state level. Johannes Schmuckenschlager, together with his team and his many supporters, will seek the trust of voters in order to continue working successfully in the chamber. One thing is clear: our farmers will not be deceived. They know exactly who is honest with them and who only shows up shortly before the elections. In the Farmers’ Association we work for our farmers every day, before and even after the elections have been defeated,” emphasized Lower Austrian Farmers’ Association Chairman LH-Deputy. Stephan Pernkopf at the meeting of the state executive board.
