Annual presentation 2025 of the Natural History Museum Vienna

The General Director of the NHM Vienna Dr. Katrin Vohland and the economic director Mag. Markus Roboch laden for the New Year’s reception 2025 in the Natural History Museum Vienna. The aim is to take stock and provide an outlook on exhibition and research projects as well as planned structural projects and modernization measures.

The intensive focus on the development potential of the Natural History Museum Vienna with regard to research, collection development, scientific communication and the quality of the stay of the growing number of visitors is manifested in the structural development of the house. The herpetological exhibition halls and the bird halls are currently being completely overhauled, both in terms of didactic content with a view to understanding evolution and in terms of restoration.

Thankfully, the Federal Government’s decision makes it possible Open entrance area and barrier-free to design. The investment funds that have already been approved in accordance with Section 5 of the Museum Act also allow vertical access (lifts) as well as the modernization of the biological exhibition collections to carry out.
