Highly paid positions are filled exclusively by red-blooded party members
Vienna (OTS) – “While the city’s mountain of debt is increasing immeasurably, highly paid positions in the area of outsourced companies in the city of Vienna are being awarded exclusively to red-blooded partisans. Particularly questionable is the appointment of Peter Weinelt, who played a more than elucidating role in the Wien Energie billion-dollar disaster, as managing director of the Wiener Stadtwerke,” said Viennese FPÖ club chairman Maximilian Krauss, criticizing the position.
Krauss demands that city-owned businesses must also be subject to the municipal council’s control rights. “If the city of Vienna pumps seven billion euros of tax money into Wien Holding, Wien Energie, Wiener Linien, Wiener Netze, etc. and these companies are neither subject to the municipal council’s right of inquiry nor to the clarification in an investigative commission, then this is more than questionable in terms of democratic policy. The Neos have also completely failed here and, together with the Ludwig SPÖ, have prevented any transparency,” said the liberal club chairman.
