“Orientation Special” on the topic “What does Austria believe?” on January 7th at 12.30 p.m. on ORF 2

Vienna (OTS) Love, happiness and God – what will happen next in 2024: What do people in Austria believe in? What gives them support and where do they find meaning? The ORF’s religion and ethics department launched a large-scale multimedia project last year to get to the bottom of these questions. What do people think about love, guilt, happiness, freedom or God? Journalists traveled with cameras and microphones in all federal states and asked young and old, at village fairs, in nursing homes, at the volunteer fire department, at a wide variety of institutions, professional groups and religious communities about what really matters in life. The project will continue in 2024 and will be put on a scientific footing, so to speak. A representative study from the University of Vienna will be available in the middle of the year, which will provide information about what characterizes the values and beliefs of people in Austria and how they deal with major social developments.

In a special “Orientation” edition on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at 12:30 p.m. on ORF 2, Sandra Szabo will review highlights from the programs of the ORF religion and ethics department and discuss them with religious and political scientist Astrid Mattes from the university Vienna, which scientific results can be expected.
