“Experience Austria”: mountain farming life around the Klippitztörl

Vienna (OTS) The latest “Austrian Experience” from the Carinthian State Studio shows the original way of life of the people who dedicate themselves to agriculture and old traditions at the foot of the Saualpe. A world has been preserved around the Klippitztörl that allows you to find peace in many ways. People are always in harmony with nature – can be seen on Sunday, January 7th, 2024, at 4:30 p.m. on ORF 2.

Original communities and gentle alpine ridges characterize the area around the Klippitztörl.
Here you live together in a way that applies to both people and animals. It is a place away from the stress of everyday life, where enjoyment and carefree moments are also important.

An example of this is the mountain farmer Raphael Pliemitscher. With his “Mirniger Schuhplattler” the farmer from Eberstein lives a tried and tested tradition. The folk dance group seems to be a complete success – last but not least, the dancers performed at the Mirniger Almkirchtag. The farmer is also active in the band and plays the accordion.

The Kogler family lives at 1,300 meters above sea level in the municipality of Hüttenberg. The family around young farmer Ronald Kogler and his wife Lydia has owned livestock and forestry for several generations. The family produces products such as curds, butter and cheese in their own cheese dairy.

Young farmer Manuel Probst also runs a dairy farm together with his wife. The chairman of the alpine cooperative supplies surrounding restaurants with local, fresh cow’s milk.

Ralf Schneider also benefits from the Probst family’s dairy products. On the idyllic Weißbergeralm, around 20 kilometers north of Klein St. Paul, he and his wife entertain passing hikers and cyclists in his alpine hut.

Around the Klippitztörl, nature and the flow of the seasons determine the pace and rhythm of life. The region offers people a busy but decelerated life in a fast-moving world.
