The awarding of a total of 23 DLG medals once again confirms the excellent quality of our dairy products. But it is also a sign that we are right in our belief that the best raw materials are necessary for the best product quality. Not all milk is the same. And exceptional quality can only arise where there is exceptional commitment behind it. In order to meet our own high quality standards, as Austria’s pioneer for animal health, we have been ensuring ideal living conditions for our dairy cows since 2017. After all, only healthy and happy cows produce premium quality milk.

Salzburg (OTS) – 23 DLG medals once again confirm the excellent product quality at SalzburgMilch
The well-known, independent testing institute DLG (German Agricultural Society) once again confirms the high quality level of SalzburgMilch products. The positive balance at the DLG awards: 17 gold and 6 silver medals for the Salzburger Premium Milchmacher.
As one of the most important quality assurance institutes in Europe, the DLG regularly provides independent and objective information regarding food quality. The results about the quality of various dairy products, which were recently obtained in an anonymized process, also provide consumers with valuable guidance when choosing the product on the shelf.
The SalzburgMilch products were once again completely convincing with a total of 17 DLG gold and 6 DLG silver medals. Gold went to, among others, Premium Alpine Milk 3.5%, Premium Daily Fresh Alpine Milk and Organic Premium Alpine Milk 3.5%. The premium whipped cream, the premium breakfast skyr, which was only launched in 2023, the premium drinking yogurt strawberry, the premium fruit yogurt blueberry and the organic premium fruit yogurt apricot as well as the premium Almkönig smoked were also awarded a gold medal.
The focus of the extensive assessment by the experts was on criteria such as sensory properties, appearance, consistency, smell and taste as well as microbiological, chemical and physical laboratory tests.
Excellent quality thanks to extraordinary commitment
Andreas Gasteiger, Managing Director of SalzburgMilch, is pleased to be starting the new year with positive encouragement thanks to the renewed rain of medals and is drawing additional motivation from this to stick to the path he has chosen: “The awarding of a total of 23 DLG medals once again confirms the excellent quality of our dairy products.
“
The high level of animal welfare at SalzburgMilch, which goes far beyond the legal requirements, is ensured by the animal health initiative, which is unique in Austria’s dairy landscape and is supported by all of the approximately 2,400 SalzburgMilch farming families. The heart of this initiative is the animal health checks, in which independent inspectors check the individual health status of the cows and make further recommendations if necessary. An in-house veterinarian – also unique in Austria – provides additional advice to the SalzburgMilch farmers. An animal health advisory board made up of leading, independent experts also ensures the continuous development of the program.
