New “Cabaret Summit” with Gery Seidl, Gernot Kulis, Malarina, Guido Cantz and Martin Frank on January 5th on ORF 1

The best punchlines on the topic of “Beloved Traditions” at 8:15 p.m

Vienna (OTS) “Funtime on Friday” offers the summit of the German-speaking cabaret scene! In the second part of the 14th “Cabaret Summit”, the local cabaret stars Gery Seidl, Gernot Kulis and Malarina, together with their colleagues from Germany, Guido Cantz and Martin Frank, will deliver their best on Friday, January 5th, 2024, at 8:15 p.m. on ORF 1 Punchlines on the topic of “Beloved Traditions”. They will again be musically accompanied by the all-female formation “KGB – The Cabaret Summit Band”.

The “Cabaret Summit” celebrates “Beloved Traditions”

In keeping with the show’s theme, Gernot Kulis reveals a secret: He can’t do crafts – not at all. For him, a visit to the hardware store turns into a gauntlet with a brilliant outcome. Gery Seidl, who feels just as at home in the hardware store as he does on any construction site, takes the audience into the allotment garden and urges them to adhere to the local traditions and rules. One important thing to note first: Noise at the weekend could cause problems!

Guido Cantz finds traditions in Cologne Cathedral, where the bones of the Three Wise Men lie. And he also finds what he is looking for in the garden when he has to look for Easter eggs instead of his beloved children. Malarina remembers her grandmother, who was thrown into the deep end of Austrian customs at the first sight of a Krampus. Things are also wet around the Oktoberfest: a real Bavarian – Martin Frank – tells us openly how he feels about the national drink, beer.
