Main prize for the ARTE co-production THE SILENCE OF THE DONS

On Friday evening, the TeleVisionale film and series festival came to an end with a celebratory awards ceremony in the Baden-Baden Theater.

ARTE is pleased about the main prize, the “Television Film Prize of the German Academy of Performing Arts”, for THE SILENCE OF THE DONS, a co-production with ORF.

First a cat is involved, then a rooster. The series of strange murders alarms Jonas Horak, who is imprisoned for murder. Sophie Landner, the police officer who arrested him, learns from Horak that a dangerous serial criminal is at work here. All of these murders have to do with the history of the Bremen Town Musicians. Landner has to find the donkey to prevent the next murder. As absurd as Horak’s logic seems at first glance, Landner has to realize that the matter has to be taken seriously – deadly seriously.

This year’s jury for the “Television Film Prize of the German Academy of Performing Arts” included the well-known actor, producer and activist Tyron Ricketts, columnist, actress and author Omira El Ouassil, actress and author Anna Brüggemann, Cathrin Ehrlich and Alfred Holighaus (Development Executive and Producer)
