110 applications were received for the thirteenth edition of the TÜV AUSTRIA Science Prize. Nine projects involving 15 actors particularly impressed the expert jury. The winners will be announced on November 25th.
In the category “Universities – dissertations“ sat down the food technologist Dr. Marianna Giancaterino MSc, University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna, DI Dr. Luke Kasper, Mechanical and industrial engineer, Vienna University of Technology, as well as the electrical engineer IN Dr. Thomas LangbauerGraz University of Technology, against strong scientific competition.
In the category “Universities/technical colleges – diploma/master theses” became BY Christina Daneckermaster’s degree in industrial engineering and mechanical engineering, Vienna University of Technology, DI Lorenz Michael Pfannermaster’s degree in industrial engineering and mechanical engineering, Vienna University of Technology, as well DI Katharina SteinerMaster’s degree program in medical technology, Upper Austria University of Applied Sciences, nominated.
In the category “HTL thesesthe high school graduate teams are happy TGM Vienna 20 (plastics technology), Nina Aigner and Pia Huspeka as well as the electrical engineers Wenzel Adametz and Clemens Heil from the HTL Graz-Gösting (BULME) about a nomination. Also in the race are the mechatronics team of Markus Exler, Lucas Fröller, Jan Kaiser, Lorenz Riedl and Alexander Schütz from the Linz technical center.
November 25, 2024 – Live stream of the gala evening in the Kuppelsaal of the TU Vienna
The winning projects will be presented on November 25, 2024, 7:30 p.m., in the Kuppelsaal of the TU Vienna. The event will also be called Livestream transmitted: wipreis.tuvaustria.com
The prize money for the best dissertation is 6,000 euros, for the best diploma thesis/master’s thesis 5,000 euros, and 4,000 euros goes to the HTL winning project.
TÜV AUSTRIA Science Prize 2025
The TÜV AUSTRIA Science Prize will also take place next year. Dissertations, diploma/master theses and HTL theses whose approval is no older than 2023 can be submitted.
Applications for the 14th edition of the TÜV AUSTRIA Science Prize are already welcome! Submission deadline is the 25. August 2025.
