FPÖ – Hofer: “We have different ideologies, but everyone fights in their own way for our homeland Austria!” | Freedom Parliamentary Club

“You must never forget the motivation that brought you into politics. At the end of the day, it is always Austria that is why you went into politics. A certain order should always be adhered to, which is important in politics. Firstly, it’s always about Austria, then it’s about the party and thirdly it’s about your own career. And whoever mixes up this order will eventually fail in politics – this order must always be adhered to. We have different ideologies, but everyone fights in their own way for our homeland Austria,” said the outgoing Third President of the National Council, NAbg, today. Norbert Hofer, in his contribution to the debate.

“Although it is a secret election today, I will say who I will vote for and why,” said Hofer. Addressing the Second President of the National Council, Doris Bures: “I have great respect for what you have achieved in all your functions, and you are also a great expert on the rules of procedure.”

“My vote also belongs to Peter Haubner because I got to know him in the joint coalition and because he can do it too. He also knows how economics works. It is now important at all levels that there are people who know how location policy works.”

Norbert Hofer said of the liberal candidate for the office of National Council President: “What is remarkable about Walter Rosenkranz is how long he worked on the local council. As a local councilor, I know how many conversations you have to have and how important this level of political activity is. He is also in the fire department, he was an experienced club chairman in the coalition with the ÖVP and was also elected ombudsman with a large majority. You were also there when we in the coalition ensured that the descendants of the victims of National Socialism could more easily obtain Austrian citizenship. You are also an enthusiastic musician. When you experience Walter Rosenkranz on his guitar, the lawyer and politician suddenly becomes a completely different person. I appreciate his sensitivity, his empathy and his ambition, which also gives the best in this area. I hope that you get a large majority, because you will do a great job in the office. I wish you all the best for it.”

“I would like to remind everyone that when we fight and argue with each other – this is part of parliament – never to forget that the other person is also a person with family and friends and that you could hurt the other person in the process,” emphasized Hofer , who finally thanked the employees of the Parliamentary Directorate, his employees and also the Freedom Parliament Club and in particular Herbert Kickl: “We managed to find each other again very quickly and build a real friendship.”
