The ÖVP-Nehammer & Co party dictatorship ignores the results of the 2024 National Council election. Real lawyer W. Pöltl is therefore calling for changes to the constitution. In Austria there is (unfortunately only) indirect democracy. The people have no say directly (apart from the election of the Federal President, and in only a few federal states when electing the mayor). Pöltl demands: No more party dictatorial exploratory puppet theater! Politics must accept the will of the people! The solution is simple: the election winner (NR election 2024: FPÖ) has to be tasked with forming a government and, if necessary, enters into a coalition with the second-strongest party and then, if necessary, with the third-strongest party. Depending on the number of votes. Voters show the clear will of the people. How is this to be implemented? Quite simply: through a constitutional amendment. In which the people have to decide! W.Pöltl therefore calls for a referendum to be carried out. The following question must be asked in the referendum: “After a National Council election, should the party with the highest number of votes be tasked with forming a government?” The question must be answered with YES or NO.
