The Austrian Association of Vaccine Manufacturers (ÖVIH) is making a change to its board. Olivier Jankowitsch from the Austrian-French vaccine company Valneva is a new addition. From now on he will be the two Presidents Mag. and Renée Gallo-Daniel and Mag.a Sigrid Haslinger support with his know-how in governmental affairs.

The governmental affairs expert calls for cooperation between all stakeholders from healthcare and industry to ensure the supply of vaccines. Olivier has 20 years of experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. In his current position at Valneva, a specialized vaccine company, Olivier is responsible for setting up global governmental affairs and overseeing grant management. He completed his studies in chemical engineering at the ETH in Zurich. He also holds a postgraduate diploma in EU Public Affairs & European Studies and a certificate from Cornell University in Financial Management.

Olivier Jankowitsch solves in his new role Dr. Christoph Jandl from who held this position for three years. “I am very much looking forward to working with my colleagues on the Executive Board in my new role as Secretary General of the ÖVIH.”said Jankowitsch. Among other things, he wants to work to ensure and improve access to existing and new vaccinations and states: “In order to increase vaccination rates in all age groups in Austria, a joint approach is needed from all representatives of the healthcare system, political decision-makers and industry and I look forward to constructive cooperation.”

Focus on raising awareness

ÖVIH President Gallo-Daniel is pleased with the new addition: “I am very pleased to be able to work with DI Olivier Jankowitsch on the ÖVIH Executive Board. Olivier Jankowitsch’s expertise on the board will be valuable support for us.” Vice-President Haslinger, who works at MSD outside of her work at the ÖVIH Director Market Access, Policy & Outcome Research, is also extremely positive about working with her new colleague: “DI Olivier Jankowitsch is a great asset to our executive board. I look forward to implementing many important projects together and continuing to raise awareness of the need for vaccination.”
