Teradata and NVIDIA deliver AI capabilities for large enterprises and hybrid environments

Los Angeles (OTS) –

Teradata integrates NVIDIA NeMo and NVIDIA NIM-Micro Services into the Vantage platform to accelerate AI workloads

Teradata announced a new collaboration with NVIDIA at the Possible conference in Los Angeles to expand the Teradata Vantage platform with NVIDIA AI. This particularly benefits large, global organizations that use both public and private clouds:

Integration of NVIDIA NeMo and NVIDIA NIM Microservices in Teradata Vantage: Teradata integrated NVIDIA NeMo and NVIDIA NIM Microservices into the Vantage platform to accelerate AI workloads and support the development of foundational and custom large language models (LLMs), agent-based workflows, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) applications. Customers can also deploy their own custom models through NVIDIA AI Enterprise: an end-to-end software platform that provides enterprise-grade security, support and stability to increase the ROI of generative AI (GenAI) use cases.

Teradata Vantage with NVIDIA accelerated computing: In addition to multiple NVIDIA software integrations, the Teradata platform will provide NVIDIA accelerated computing infrastructure. The first implementation was announced today as part of Teradata’s new support for small language models (SLMs) and open LLMs in VantageCloud Lake: The new “Bring-your-own-LLM” function takes advantage of NVIDIA AI accelerated computing platform clusters for tasks such as LLM inference and model fine-tuning.

NVIDIA NeMo Retriever on Teradata VantageCloud: NVIDIA NeMo Retrievera compilation of NVIDIA NIM Micro Services will also be available on Teradata VantageCloud in the future. NVIDIA NeMo Retriever enables companies to seamlessly connect custom models with diverse business data and deliver highly accurate answers. NVIDIA NeMo Retriever on Teradata VantageCloud enables accelerated search and RAG applications to leverage existing customer data. Teradata will offer Teradata VantageCloud customers access to NVIDIA NIM Micro Services before expanding the offering to customers with a hybrid environment. NVIDIA NIM Micro Services are part of NVIDIA AI Enterprise.

“Data is the foundation of generative AI applications and enables the development of highly tailored applications,” said Pat Lee, vice president of strategic enterprise partnerships at NVIDIA. “By integrating NVIDIA AI Enterprise, Teradata offers developers a powerful, full-stack platform that delivers the security, stability and support they need.”

“Teradata customers are heavy users of data and analytics. Therefore, we are pleased to partner with NVIDIA to leverage our strong and trusted foundation for innovative AI use cases. By integrating NVIDIA’s accelerated compute architecture into our Vantage platform, Teradata customers can “Accelerate the use of AI at scale in the environment of their choice, delivering unprecedented business value,” said Hillary Ashton, Chief Product Officer at Teradata.

Availability

Teradata VantageCloud Lake NVIDIA AI-accelerated computing will initially be generally available on AWS in November. Inference features will be added in Q4 and fine-tuning availability will be available in H1 2025.

NVIDIA AI Enterprise integrations will follow in 2025.
