Innsbruck/Lienz (OTS) –

“We should stop giving gifts to young people. What they need is opportunity.” This is the guiding idea of ​​the technical courses offered by MCI in Lienz from autumn 2025.

Specifically, the first year is offered together for four technical fields of study:

  • Environmental, process and energy engineering
  • Mechatronics
  • Medical, Health & Sports Technology
  • Industrial Engineering

This offers several advantages for young people:

  • You can start studying technology without having to decide on the specific field of study at the start of your studies.
  • You can do that first year of study at the Lienz location, live inexpensively at home and maintain their connection to family, work, circle of friends, hobbies and clubs
  • The Zeitmodell The first year of study consists of two and a half blocked course days, so that you can also work part-time.
  • From then on second year You can continue your chosen technical studies either full-time or part-time at the Innsbruck location:
    • Full time:
      • Medical, Health & Sports Technology
      • Mechatronics
    • Part-time:
      • Industrial Engineering
      • Environmental, process and energy engineering
    • The third year of study consists of
      • One international semester in English either in Germany with visiting professors and students from partner universities or at one of the many MCI partner universities around the world (semester 5)
      • An internship semester at a company where the bachelor’s/diploma thesis is also written (semester 6).
    • Every MCI course takes place in close collaboration with business (content, teachers, projects, internships…) and offers exciting opportunities Career opportunitiescontacts and networks at home and abroad.

Hansjörg Jaufenthaler, MSc, born and raised in Lienz, studied international business and business education in Graz. His professional career to date has taken him to Vienna, Verona and Upper Austria. After more than 20 years of professional work in renowned companies, he is now looking forward to building up the technology studies at the Lienz campus with the MCI and the East Tyrolean economy and working with students, course leaders, companies, schools and interest groups.

The end of the Information event formed the Guest lecture who comes from East Tyrol Managing Director of Microsoft Austria Hermann Erlach about the exciting possibilities of artificial intelligence.
