Justice Minister Alma Zadić, the co-head of QWIEN Andreas Brunner and the person affected by criminal prosecution Michael Woditschka present the BMJ memorial project “discriminated+”, which makes the fate of queer people who were prosecuted in the Second Republic visible and promotes an active and promotes dignified remembrance.
The aim of the “discriminated+” memorial project is to come to terms with the past, raise awareness of discrimination against the LGBTIQ+ community and pave the way to an inclusive future. After Alma Zadić’s apology for the criminal prosecution of queer people, the rehabilitation of those affected and their financial compensation, the “discriminated+” memorial project represents a further step in the Austrian justice system’s reappraisal and reparation process.
