Kamala Harris or Donald Trump? It’s not just Americans who are asking themselves this question. The whole world is looking forward to the election on November 5th. In the run-up to this eagerly anticipated US presidential election, ARTE is presenting, among other things, two themed evenings in a comprehensive program that offers insightful insights into the political and social challenges of the USA.
The first theme evening on October 22nd will focus on the radicalization of Republicans and the seemingly irreconcilable division in the USA. Two documentary contributions shed light on the complex history and profound conflicts of both camps. A four-part documentary series “offers an in-depth look at the key issues affecting Americans in this election.
On October 29th the focus will be on the upcoming election. The evening deals with the consequences of the candidates’ respective election victories for Europe and the world and with the political and social struggles in the heart of America. In addition to the themed evenings, ARTE offers a diverse program on society, culture and film that highlights current social and cultural phenomena in the USA.
ARTE Reportage and ARTE Journal accompany the big questions and the development of the presidential election with regular contributions and analyzes and provide orientation in an election that will determine the future of the USA.
