The online supermarket Gurkerl reduces prices for over 600 products in the gluten-free, lactose-free and sugar-free categories by 25 percent. In this way, the company relieves the burden on consumers who are dependent on special substitute products due to intolerances.
According to a survey by the opinion research institute IMAS, 17 percent of Austrians suffer from a food allergy or intolerance and therefore avoid certain foods (1).
“Gluten-free flour, lactose-free milk or sugar-free alternatives – many of our customers use these substitute products. However, they often cost significantly more than the regular variants. And this at a time when every cent counts anyway. Ducking away doesn’t help. With our campaign we show that there is another way. Nobody should have to go without personally important nutritional alternatives,” explains Stephan Lüger, Commercial Director of Gurkerl.
The price reductions are valid until September 23, 2024.

In addition to the discounts, Gurkerl offers special filter options in the web shop and app that allow customers to customize their shopping experience. With just a few clicks, the range can be filtered according to criteria such as gluten-free, lactose-free, vegetarian or vegan, so that customers can quickly and easily find the right foods for their specific dietary needs.
