Under the motto #BackToTheRoads, around 100,000 bike fans from all over the world are once again celebrating the European Bike Week at Lake Faaker See. This year with a spectacular drone show, lots of guided excursions, a great supporting program with lots of music – including at the Burgarena Finkenstein and a new route for the parade.
Drone dance: On Friday (September 6th) and Saturday (September 7th), for the first time in the history of the European Bike Week, a breathtaking drone show will light up the night sky over Lake Faaker See. Accompanied by music and moderation, 200 synchronously controlled drones will dance formations and draw impressive images in the sky. From the Harley Village (Main Plaza and Customizer Area), looking north (Drobollach and Egg), you will have the best view of the drone formations over the lake.
Harley Village with a wide range of offers: At the farmer’s market in the Harley Village, numerous Harley Davidson dealers make bikers’ hearts vibrate. In addition to the Carinthian Corner, the Harley Bar and the Customizer Area, concerts, a custom bike show and demo rides are also on offer. Culinary enjoyment with regional delicacies, chilling out and talking shop round off the rides in a cozy atmosphere in the Harley Village. A special highlight of this season is the “2nd Lady Biker Day” on Wednesday, September 4th. This special event is a tribute to the growing community of female motorcyclists.
Velden with event under the umbrella of the European Bike Week
Since this year, Velden am Wörthersee has also been hosting an official event under the brand European Bike Week. Velden has also been a popular meeting place for bikers during Harley Week in the past. These activities are now coordinated under the umbrella of European Bike Week: In four designated event areas with top entertainment – from live bands and rocking DJ sound, complemented by the high-quality local gastro scene and other trendy food trucks.
The focus and the Harley Village remains on Lake Faak.
Shorter parade: One of the highlights of the EBW this year is the parade on Saturday (September 7th). Due to increased official requirements, which would have required around 100 additional security guards for intersection areas, a new, shorter route was chosen. In addition, in recent years many bikers had stopped the parade shortly after Villach. This year the parade does not go around Lake Ossiacher See, but only along the western bank.
European Bike Week secured for Carinthia until 2030
Harley-Davidson, the Villach – Faaker See – Ossiacher See region and Kärnten Werbe signed a new contract at the 25th anniversary of the European Bike Week last year. “The event is guaranteed to take place in the region around Lake Faaker See until 2030 and is therefore still an important source of overnight accommodation and added value for the off-season,” said Carinthia Advertising boss Klaus Ehrenbrandtner and Georg Overs, managing director of the Villach – Faaker See – Ossiacher See region , who are looking forward to a successful Bike Week 2024: “Carinthia will once again present itself as the perfect host country.”
