The climate tour is film-worthy: “Radchallenge” rewards green travel to the film festival | City of Vienna
Vienna (OTS) –

The Vienna Climate Tour continues its journey and makes a special stop at the Vienna Film Festival. The first 50 visitors who visit the festival by bike on August 21st from 5 p.m. will receive a 20 euro voucher for all gastro offerings on site. With the bicycle challenge, the city of Vienna promotes and rewards environmentally conscious mobility and provides information about the city’s climate protection measures with mobile interactive exhibitions in the form of cargo bikes.

Cycling and winning

“The Vienna Climate Tour brings climate protection directly to people and shows how easy environmentally conscious action can be. Our cycling challenge at the film festival is a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness of climate protection and sustainable mobility,” said Climate City Councilor Jürgen Czernohorszky.

The city of Vienna is using the film festival’s wide reach to draw visitors’ attention to climate protection with a bicycle challenge. On August 21st, the first 50 festival guests to arrive by bike will have the opportunity to be rewarded for their environmentally conscious behavior. To take part in the challenge, participants must ride their bikes to the designated bike parking facilities on the corner of Lichtenfelsgasse from 5 p.m.

The climate tour is also located there, including a stand where the vouchers are handed out. The winners can pick up their voucher worth 20 euros on site. This is valid for one meal and one drink on the same day at all food and drink stands at the film festival. The campaign applies to the first 50 cyclists who report to the stand and ends at 6 p.m. at the latest. In this way, the city of Vienna not only promotes local gastronomy, but also motivates Viennese to choose sustainable means of transport and to do sports.

This is the Vienna Climate Tour

On the Vienna Climate Tour, a fleet of eight e-cargo bikes are on the move throughout the city: the topics of the individual bikes cover a wide variety of areas of life – from nutrition to green space, water and species protection to energy and circular economy as well as the new mushroom bike , which stands for the climate network. One focus is the Vienna Climate Roadmap, which sets out the city’s path to climate neutrality.

Each theme wheel is a multifunctional information carrier; in addition to tips and suggestions for climate protection in everyday life, there are things to try out and experiment with. In addition, you can ask questions of city experts and find out about the big picture of the climate crisis and the city’s activities. The climate tour travels throughout Vienna and visits public places, parks and events.
