The coming long weekend will once again bring heavy holiday traffic on the classic transit routes A 9 Pyhrn, A 10 Tauern, A 12 Inntal and A 13 Brennerautobahn. There may be congestion in both directions because many people will be traveling south again, but return traffic is already fully underway. The end of the holidays in the Netherlands will be particularly noticeable on the south-north connections on Saturday and Sunday.
Frequency in St. Pölten, Coldplay in Vienna and MotoGP in Spielberg
In addition, major events will cause regional congestion this weekend and from Wednesday, August 21st. The four-day Frequency Festival with headliner Ed Sheeran begins in St. Pölten today, Wednesday, August 14th. Heavy traffic is therefore expected around St. Pölten South and St. Pölten East until Saturday. The MotoGP class will once again be visiting Spielberg in Upper Styria from Friday to Sunday. The majority of visitors arrive and depart via the S 36 Murtal Expressway. ASFINAG advises you to allow enough time for the journey or to switch to public transport.
Next week, all four concerts by the band Coldplay in Vienna’s Ernst Happel Stadium (Wednesday 21st, Thursday 22nd August, and 24th and 25th August) are sold out. There will be increased traffic on arrival and after the end of the event from 10 p.m
A 23 southeast tangent is to be expected at the Handelskai junction and the surrounding streets.
