AVISO: Greenpeace names the nine worst concrete sins in Austria

Background information:

In Austria, almost 4,200 hectares of land are used every year – an area almost as large as Lake Attersee. With the initiative “Austria’s 9 Concrete Treasures” Greenpeace would like to draw attention to the massive destruction of soil and the wasteful use of soil.

The numerous submissions, the great interest and the lively participation in the public voting (20,400 votes) clearly show that people in Austria have had enough of oversized logistics centers on greenfield sites, dozens of specialist retail centers on the outskirts of town, enormous transport projects and questionable luxury accommodation on natural areas that are particularly worthy of protection .
