Premiere of the Wagrain-Kleinarl Saga | Wagrain-Kleinarl Tourism, July 18, 2024

The successful series #holidayfeeling now has a third season. This time exceptionally different.

The first two seasons of the short film series #urlaubsfühl produced by Wagrain-Kleinarl Tourismus not only achieved well over two million YouTube views, but also won a number of national and international prizes and awards. Wagrain-Kleinarl has now launched a third season.

If you stay true to the idea and make it as good as you can, and you love it, maybe others will love it too, but you don’t know. If you think about the audience and build it for them, you got just as good a chance. They might hate it, but you didn’t build it for yourself. And it’s like to me the wrong way to go. Build it and make it true to the idea.

In just a few words, world-famous filmmaker David Lynch (TwinPeaks, Mulholland Drive, Blue Velvet) sums up what Wagrain-Kleinarl Tourism is about in the 3rd season of #urlaubsfühl: The magic of truthfulness.

After the huge success of the first two seasons, you think more than three times whether you want to get back into the race. But we are brave. As always, with the third season we want to go off the beaten path and try new things, explains Wolfgang Wild, Head of Marketing and Communications at Wagrain-Kleinarl Tourismus. This time we want to deliver the holiday effect directly to your home. Regeneration free of charge. Of course, this is not as effective as a holiday in our valley. But in small doses, these films actually have an immediate regenerating effect.

Wagrain-Kleinarl would like to use film possibilities to enable a regeneration effect, at least in small bites, even without a vacation on site. Every good film captivates its audience from the start. Suddenly everything everyday is forgotten and you are completely absorbed by the film’s events. There’s much more than meets the eye. You don’t just see a film, you feel it with your skin and hair. This sensory effect can lead to a mental and even physical regenerative effectadds Wolfgang Wild.

It was produced and directed by the Carinthian filmmaker Robert Schabus, known for “Bauer Unser”, “Stadt Land Boden” and the cinema documentary “Alpenland”, which consistently deals critically with Alpine tourism.

At first I thought to myself: no, this isn’t for me. Two or three weeks later, the request from the tourism association happened to fall between my fingers again. As I read through the briefing, it seemed to me that the region is trying to go a different way, not faster, higher, stronger, but somehow trying to look in a different direction. And that’s what interested me. The deciding factor for the project was also that the tourism association was looking for someone who would take a cinematic look at the landscape, a slightly different look away from advertising images. That appealed to me. Let’s try it! The filming took over a year. Overall, Robert Schabus had a very proud number of days of filming, which corresponds to that of an entire feature film. This resulted in incredibly captivating encounters with the landscape and very personal interviews with the ski legend and athlete of the century Annemarie Moser-Pröll and 10 other personalities from the valley.

The contemporary composer and musician Manfred Plessl contributed the dramatic, symphonic soundtrack.

The result is a third season that feels more like its own mini-series of “monumental short films” full of great cinematic moments and therefore claims its own series name.

Episode 1) “Bundle of Energy”, Episode 2) “Zeitgeister”, Episode 3) “Mountain Stormer”, Episode 4) “Heartbreaker”, Episode 5) “Primal Forces”
