Genital mutilation in the Braunau district: Captor’s reward is suspended

1,000 euros for information that leads to the conviction of the perpetrator / Two years in prison! / Animal abusers are just practicing

Punch/pcs. Pantaleon (OTS) Pfotenhilfe boss Johanna Stadler is very dismayed after the shocking news on Wednesday afternoon that a stray cat cared for by pensioners was found again on Monday in St. Pantaleon, Braunau district, not far from the Pfotenhilfe animal shelter, after being missing for several days due to cries of pain. According to the vet, the genitals were cut off with scissors.

In any case, this constitutes criminal animal cruelty, which is why Pfotenhilfe is now offering a reward of 1,000 euros for relevant information that leads to the conviction of the perpetrator, who faces up to two years in prison. Stadler: “It’s hard to believe, but even after my more than 30 years in animal protection, there is still an increase in inhumane cruelty towards animals! Such an incredibly barbaric act cannot go unpunished, which is why we want to help catch the perpetrator with the catcher’s bonus find!”

Animal abusers are just practicing!

Last year Univ.-Prof. Dr. Birgit U. Stetina from the Psychology Faculty of the Sigmund Freud University Vienna gave a lecture on the topic (see https://www.tierschutzombudsstelle.steiermark.at/cms/beitrag/12910204/138741427/) and said: “Significant links are being found between animal cruelty, child abuse and neglect, domestic violence, elder abuse and other forms of violence. Researchers confirm that animal abuse can no longer be viewed as an isolated incident to be ignored “Violence against animals is often an indicator or predictor of crime and a warning sign that other family members in the household may not be safe.”
