The verdict against the FPÖ General Secretary shows how much the leadership of the Freedom Party doesn’t care about law and order
Vienna (OTS) – “The verdict against Hafenecker shows once again the true face of the FPÖ. He was not legally convicted today as the intended perpetrator for having a party colleague issue him fake Covid certificates during the pandemic. At a time when most Austrians had themselves tested regularly in order to protect the most vulnerable in our society, Christian Hafenecker had fake test certificates issued in order to avoid having to comply with the applicable laws. This is a direct affront to all those who followed the rules. What is particularly serious is that Hafenecker was too cowardly to accept responsibility and appear in court in person. The fear of being in the dock seems to be much stronger than any sense of duty,” commented the General Secretary of the People’s Party, Christian Stocker, on the verdict announced today against the FPÖ General Secretary, Christian Hafenecker.
“It is an attitude that we at the FPÖ know all too well: the rules only apply to others. It’s the same attitude that we see in Herbert Kickl, when he criticizes other people’s work, but himself regularly leaves his job as a member of parliament to have fun climbing mountains. And it is the same attitude with which Kickl criticizes others as ‘part of the system’ when he himself is one of the system’s biggest favorites,” Stocker continued and concluded: “The People’s Party and Karl Nehammer stand for transparency and compliance with the law. Trust and integrity are the pillars of our work – and we expect the same from all other political representatives of the population.”
